Kourageous Kidz is a Christian, faith-informed youth development 501(c)(3) organization designed to support teens become confident, capable, compassionate and courageous young adults who understand their value, recognize their potential, and are better prepared to navigate life with purpose.

Teens are making real decisions about relationships, identity, money, work, independence, and their future long before adulthood arrives.
Kourageous Kidz helps bridge the gap between adolescence and adulthood by equipping young people early with the faith, practical life skills, and supportive experiences that can help them develop the inner foundation to navigate life with high self-esteem, self-love, healthy relationships, emotional regulation, confidence, and a sense of purpose.

Our approach to youth development is grounded in four guiding principles that shape the experiences, relationships, and opportunities we create for teens.

We want teens to recognize their strengths, make healthy choices, serve others, and trust God as they discover who they are, where they are going, and the purpose He has for their lives.

Young people thrive when caring adults and positive relationships surround them. Families, mentors, professionals, schools, churches, businesses and community partners all have a role.

Every young person deserves to feel that who they are matters. We create spaces where teens can ask questions, use their voice, and know they belong.

Confidence grows when young people have practical tools they can actually use. We focus on skills that support everyday decisions, independence, relationships, leadership, and adulthood.

Learn it. Practice it. Live it.
Through workshops, mentoring, group conversations, hands-on activities, guest speakers, and community experiences, teens get opportunities to practice what they’re learning and apply it to real life.
The goal is simple: help each young person leave more prepared for what comes next.
● Founder & Executive Director
Kisha Kuykendall is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Certified Rehabilitation Counselor with more than 20 years of counseling experience.
Through her work with adults, Kisha began noticing a recurring theme: many people were navigating adulthood while carrying unresolved experiences and trying to develop skills they had never been given the opportunity to build earlier in life; skills related to self-worth, emotional wellness, communication, healthy relationships, decision-making, conflict resolution, independence, and purpose.
That observation led her to ask a simple but important question:
What would it look like to help young people develop these tools before adulthood so they could be better equipped for life rather than having to learn everything through painful trial and error?
Kourageous Kidz grew from that question.
Kisha envisioned a Christ-centered space where teens could be encouraged to know their worth, strengthen their confidence, develop healthy relationships, learn practical life skills, discover their purpose, and make courageous choices about their future.
Her vision is simple: to help young people build the foundation they need now to navigate adulthood with greater confidence, character, faith, purpose, and courage.

● Board of DirectorsKourageous Kidz is governed by a diversified Board of Directors whose members bring varied experiences, knowledge, and perspectives to the organization. The Board provides strategic direction, oversight, and guidance as Kourageous Kidz grows and serves young people in the community.
● Prayer TeamBehind the work of Kourageous Kidz is a mighty Prayer Team committed to covering the organization in prayer. The Prayer Team serves as a source of encouragement, wisdom, discernment, unity, protection, and intercession as they pray for the organization's leadership, volunteers, partnerships, programs, the teens we serve, and the direction God has for Kourageous Kidz.
